About The Beer Garden
The Beer Garden is a local bar in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island, NY. It was opened in 2002 and originally owned and operated by a Staten Island native, Jerry Poyntz His version of a beer garden came from his Aunt Lil. When Jerry was in his early teens, he would call looking for his cousin, Sean. He was told he wasnt home and that he was probably at the beer garden. Jerry was a mere fifteen years old, and didnt have even the slightest idea what a beer garden could have meant. When his Aunts laughter ceased, she then explained that it was the local bar down the street. Although his aunts version of a beer garden was different from that of an authentic bier garten, her version was the one engrained in him, and therefore what he would name his bar should his dream of ownership become a reality.
