About The Alpineer
We have been at the core of all your backcountry needs and summer activities equipment since 1969. In the winter months, we carry everything from alpine touring, telemarking, and cross-country skis to snowshoes, avalanche equipment and camping gear. During the summer, we provide gear and we are the experts when it comes to mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, camping and climbing. We also carry a large selection of rental equipment for your outdoor adventure. The shop has been part of the community for many years and participates in events within the community. We work with the Crested Butte Avalanche Center to promote safety in the backcountry and in the summer provide guided mountain biking rides to the community and involved with Crested Butte Bike Week. The shop is also a sponsor of the Big Mountain Enduro in Crested Butte.
