Thayer was founded in 1945 and incorporated in 1946 as Thayer Paper Company. In 1974, to reflect our growing product base, our name changed to Thayer, Incorporated. We are located in southwestern Michigan in the beautiful city of Benton Harbor. Thayer is locally owned and operated and employs 15 people who average 15 years of experience at Thayer.... We have been a "family" business from the beginning. Our President and CEO is Kay Varga Smith, who has seen to the everyday operations of Thayer since 1973. Chuck Hartzell, our general manager, has been with the company since 1985. Chuck leads our sales team in developing excellent customer relationships and serving a wide variety of customer needs. His obsession is superior customer service. Thayer puts service above all else. We are friendly and relaxed, yet passionate and committed to our work. We stock a wide variety of maintenance and janitorial products, but also special order specified products to support the needs of our many customers. Our goal is to have the products that best meet your needs in stock and ready for you as you need them. We offer free delivery or easy pick up from our office/warehouse in Benton Harbor.
