Texas Star Envelope started operations in 1994, when Grupo ARPAPEL decided to incorporate the US market given the conditions generated by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). ARPAPEL started looking for a company that would generate synergies with the operations already established in Mexico with presence in its natural markets (paper transformation) and located close to the Mexico - U S border. A successful alternative was found and ARPAPEL acquired a San Antonio based plant from Husky Envelopes in 1993. The warehouse and machinery were bought while the client base continued to be maintained. Strategic alliances with new suppliers for ARPAPEL, Texas Star, and technological know how we're first of many benefits obtained. In the following years, an enormous effort was made in order to transform the production capacity of the plant into an efficient, well managed envelope manufacturing facility.
