TenX Networks was co-founded by Michael Hugh Riley in July, 1993, opening with a $700,000 order from a wireless ISP that was attempting a new and unique business model (which unfortunately ultimately failed). However, TenX Networks continued on to become one of the original innovators in the Wireless ISP industry, an industry it still serves today.... From the outset, TenX Networks had the philosophy that the ISP business was more than just providing the pipe to deliver wireless connectivity to a customer premise; we also needed to provide applications for use by the business using that connectivity/pipe. TenX Networks has been focused on the Small-to-Medium business space (5-99 employees) since it's inception, as well as the channel that services the SMB space. We believe that SMB's are forced to buy Enterprise level products, that offer more feature/function than is needed or used by typical SMBs. Moreover the pricing is unfair, as small businesses that use LESS of a product pay MORE than larger companies that utilize more of the feature set. The SMB consultant/reseller who services SMB's is also not served well by this model, these expensive products: - consume too much of typically limited IT/Communications budget (90% goes to HW/SW solution) - allow IT resellers/consultants to make very little margin on reselling solution - leave almost no room in budgets for installation, training, customization and/or optimization Our focus was diverted in the last 9 years twice by two extremely large opportunities - by 2 different multi-billion dollar companies. In 2005, TenX Networks had an opportunity with an International Fortune 5 company that would have resulted in a $100,000,000 annual revenue flow. This deal subsequently fell through at the last minute due to regulatory concerns.
