Founded in 1931 by Dr. Heinz teNeues as a family-run printing company, teNeues has been part of the Weltbild Publishing Group since autumn 2020. Its sole shareholder is the Droege Group, an international consulting and investment company based in Düsseldorf. The company works with renowned, international photographers, including such icons of the genre as Elliott Erwitt, Edward Quinn and Paul Almasy, as well as with contemporary masters of photography who shape the image of our present, such as Greg Gorman, Bruce Weber, Jimmy Nelson, Vincent Peters, Marsel van Oosten or Thomas Hoepker. In addition, teNeues creates and publishes titles with and about international brands including BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, Cartier, Chopard, and Swarovski. teNeues books are published in several languages and distributed worldwide. Following significant wartime damage to the companys Krefeld premises, teNeues teNeues was rebuilt in the Rhineland town of Kempen. Dr. Manfred teNeues, the founders eldest son, joined the management team in 1951. A successful post-war printing business developed, which was soon supplemented by the companys first publishing activities, focused on art prints and classroom posters. The inaugural calendar program appeared in 1958, followed by greetings cards. In 1977, the companys publishing activities were incorporated into an independent company: teNeues Verlag. Hendrik teNeues, oldest son of Dr. Manfred teNeues, expanded the business internationally and founded the teNeues Publishing Company in New York in 1983.
