Since 1998, Telebeam has operated its network of public pay telephones through Telebeam Telecommunications Corporation. The number of Telebeam owned and operated public pay telephones has since increased to over 2500, primarily through internal growth and acquisitions. In addition, Telebeam has developed an interconnect client list of over 1800 ind... ividuals and entities. Telebeam was recently awarded a New York City Franchise allowing Telebeam to own and operate pay telephones in New York City for a period of fifteen years. Each PPT is tested daily, using sophisticated technology, to ensure it is functioning properly. If a problem is found Telebeam will, in most instances, have service restored within 24 hours. Each PPT is programmed to prohibit it from receiving incoming calls, thus diminishing the potential for criminal activity. Telebeam has cooperated with law enforcement personnel on numerous occasions by providing call detail records. Our cooperation has facilitated the identification and prosecution of alleged criminals. Telebeam has formed a strategic alliance with Community Voice Mail to benefit homeless persons. Telebeam's PPT's are programmed so that CVM's clients may access a voice mail system free of charge so they may communicate with family and potential landlords and employees.
