SMW Autoblok Telbrook

Telbrook was established in the early 1980's with the founder members operating the U.K. division of SMW Gmbh supplying standard Workholding products from this world renowned manufacturer. At this point Telbrook provided Workholding solutions complimented by our own engineers who were installing and servicing the SMW products. In the early 1990's t... he SMW brand was sold to the Italian manufacturer Autoblok. This gave Telbrook an opportunity to establish Telbrook Workholding in 1992 allowing to expand our agency to provide Amestra manual chucks and Tobler products including mandrels, chucks and Kosta face drivers into the U.K. The reformed company continued to grow being the main SMW supplier of standard chucks, cylinders and steady rests with manufactured ancillary parts as required. In the mid 2000's we expanded in to more bespoke Workholding to cater for the increasing demands from our customers and advancement in machine tools. Therefore this brought about the need for our own manufacturing facility. In 2005 we acquired an engineering company who were at the time manufacturing the majority of our special parts. This became Telbrook Engineering. In 2009 we moved to a larger 15,000 sq ft manufacturing facility housing our modern machine shop utilising high quality machines and personnel. Investment has been a key factor in our success with the expansion of floor space from extending our premises to hold additional stock and providing a specific stores area. A new CMM programmable machine in 2010 allowed us to increase our measuring capacity (1m x 1.2m x 0.8m) and was housed into a temperature controlled section of our premises. Customers can now have confidence of visiting Telbrook to witness inspection in progress first hand. Having full control over inspection on our premises has significantly increased efficiency and 'pass-off' success rate. In 2011 we commissioned two Mazak VTC 800 increasing capacity for larger work.
