About Ted Scruggs
The Scruggs Company was founded in as 1912 as H.A. Payne Company. In 1937 the companys name was changed to Alliger Sears Company. The company operated chiefly as a manufacturers representative for a number of companies in the Municipal Water, Power, and Petro Chemical markets. In 1947 Ted Scruggs Sr. joined the firm later purchasing the company in 1962. In 1975 the companys name was changed to Ted Scruggs Company. In December 1990 Ted Sr. retired and left the company in the care of his two sons Ted Scruggs III and Jimmy Scruggs and renamed the company The Scruggs Company and began to also stock many of the products they represented. Ted Scruggs III retired in 2012. The company is now run by Jimmy Scruggs. Today the Scruggs company is more than just a Manufacturers Representative. The company stock valves and valve operators.
