Te Mtwai

Te Mtwai upholds the framework's Maihi Mori component. Te Mtwai has three main mechanisms: Investment in language initiatives: we support whnau, hap, iwi and communities to get te reo Mori into homes. Research and evaluation: we provide Mori language revitalisation information, advice, and guidance to support the Board, Pae Motuhake, whnau, hap, an... d iwi members to make informed decisions suitable for their respective contexts; and Strategic Leadership: we look beyond whnau, hap, community and iwi to see how the public sector and greater Aotearoa can support the revitalisation of te reo Mori. Our primary focus will continue to be on kinga, hapori and iwi. The upcoming years see a particular focus on intergenerational transmission, revitalisation in immersion settings and community-led (kinga, hapori and iwi) language movements, resulting in strengthened identity, connection and wellbeing through the use and growth of the Mori language.
