Taylor Diesel Group

The year was 1945, 6'4" Glenn "Tiny" Taylor founded Taylor Diesel in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He started the business with five hundred dollars that he had borrowed from a friend. The business grew until he decided to open up his second shop in Jonesboro Arkansas and sent his best technician there to run the second store. The technician's name... was Cleo White. The store in Jonesboro was sold to Cleo and became Northeast Diesel, Cleo's first store. Tiny decided to open another store in Memphis, TN in 1965 and sold half interest to his son Don Taylor. Tiny and Don made a good team and soon expanded into three other locations: Jackson, TN 1977, Columbia, MO1982, and St. Peters, MO.1982. Donnie and Becky Taylor, siblings, were raised in the diesel fuel injection business and soon became a big part of their father's and Grandfathers business. In the year 1979 Donnie and Becky bought all interest of the Jackson, TNstore and started acquiring interest in the other stores. In 1988 Donnie became president and Becky became vice president and partners of the Taylor Diesel Group. In 1998 Donnie and Becky opened a new store in Nashville Tennessee,Taylor Diesel of Nashville to serve the middle Tennessee area. Tiny and Don had both retired but they left a legacy of how to be successful in the diesel fuel injection business. Always treat a customer the way you would like to be treated. Surround yourself with good people. Your business is only as good as the people that work there. Take the extra step, it will always pay off in the end. Have winning relationships with your customers. In January 2007 Donnie and Becky acquired the assets of Diesel Injection Service Of West Texas, owned by the Doughty family. We feel privileged to be in Lubbock and Amarillo, TX and are looking forward to serving the Texas area. Tiny (a native Texan) would be proud!
