Hi, my name is Jessica Combest and I started Taste It Tours in 2011. I am a second generation Arizonan and know the Phoenix and Scottsdale area like the back of my hand. My grandfather owned the first roller skating rink here in Arizona called RollerDrome, and I always joke that if I could get the insurance, we would do a food tour on roller skates... . Being a Scottsdale native, I feel obligated to show off the best hidden gem restaurants and amazing food in Downtown Phoenix and Old Town Scottsdale. I have a passion for food, and love to take people off the beaten path, introducing them to the restaurants that make up our thriving food scene. Back in October 2010, my family and I were on vacation in San Diego (one of our favorite places to visit) and we decided to do something different. We wanted to explore some of the best restaurants in the Gas Lamp district, but didn't know where to start. During our research on Google and Trip Advisor to research restaurants, we stumbled upon a food tour. I thought to myself, "This is right up our alley! and I was right. We loved touring 5-6 different restaurants that are off the beaten path, but what we didn't expect a history lesson of the area to be included. I asked myself why isn't there one of these tours in Phoenix? Being the entrepreneur that I am and knowing the Phoenix food scene so well, Taste it tours was born. Our goal is to have our guests connect with the restaurants that have impacted the Downtown Phoenix and Old Town Scottsdale culinary culture and show you what it is, where it's going, and how great it tastes. We want you to taste for yourself why Phoenix and Scottsdale's food scene is one of the hottest in the country.
