Jolinda has over 25 years of experience as a successful attorney focusing on workers compensation claims. She has mediated thousands of cases since being certified as a Superior Court mediator in 2003. Jolinda Babcock is the founder of The Law Office of Jolinda Babcock, PLLC and Tarheel Mediations. Originally from Pennsylvania, she graduated summa... cum laude from the University of Scranton before making North Carolina her home in 1989. After graduating with a J.D. from The University of North Carolina School of Law, she spent 22 years in private practice focusing on handling workers compensation claims. As a former partner in the firm of Robinson & Lawing, LLP, Jolinda appeared before civil courts as well as the North Carolina Industrial Commission, North Carolina Court of Appeals and The Supreme Court of North Carolina. Throughout her career, Jolinda has been an active presenter at numerous seminars hosted by groups including Wake Forest University, The North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. She has taught continuing legal education on topics such as workers' compensation stress claims, mediation and ethics and continues to speak at conferences for attorneys and others involved in mediation and workers compensation. Jolinda also had the honor of presenting at the 2012 and 2014 North Carolina Industrial Commission Educational Conferences on the subject of mediated settlement conferences. In addition, Jolinda has been active in the North Carolina Bar Association. She served as Committee Chair and program planner for the North Carolina Bar Associations Workers Compensation Sections Annual Continuing Education Program from 2002 to 2004 and then as a member of the Workers Compensation Section Council from 2004 to 2007. After a year as Vice Chair of that Section, Jolinda served as the Chair leading the Section from 2006 to 2007.
