This summer's seminar will be a five-day intensive and interactive week of study, rehearsal and performance; all events to take place Tuesda... y - Saturday, June 1 - June 5, 2010 at the Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta Percussion Seminar includes a series of workshops for percussion students of all levels, grades 7-8, as well as our usual advanced high school and college level activities. In an effort to increase awareness and generate enthusiasm for all types of percussion, we would like to invite any interested percussionist to attend five days of study, rehearsal and performance. Whether you have just started playing percussion, or you have been playing for a few years and want to hone your skills on a new area of percussion, we have the event that covers it all! * Daily clinics/seminars/masterclasses on various aspects of percussion artistry. * Daily student percussion ensemble rehearsals and instruction. * Workshops/sessions involving non-performing aspects of percussion. * Student percussion ensemble recital to culminate the week's activities. As in previous years, the week has been structured to maximize each students' exposure to all aspects of percussion performance in a hands-on approach. Lead by a faculty of nationally recognized performers and teachers, the seminar involves students in a comprehensive program of percussion activities including recitals, percussion ensemble, clinics, masterclasses and discussion groups.Read More
