We then oversee the fabrication of the image devices and provide full in-house characterization of the completed imagers with our state-of-the-art characterization facility. Our founder, Dr. Mark Wadsworth, has over 25 years of direct experience in the design and characterization of image sensors. He has designed hundreds of sensors in silicon and more exotic materials, including the first 1024 x 1024 pixel CCD used in a space application. This device, launched in 1991 as part of the ISAS/NASA Solar X-Ray Telescope on the Yohkoh Solar Observatory satellite, observed the atmosphere of the sun in the soft x-ray spectrum for over 10 years.
