Since 1997, TAMC has successfully raised seven investment funds and helped 10 portfolio companies to become publicly traded companies. The management team of TAMC has extensive experience that spans from venture capital industry, high-tech industry, financial industry, and government. The managing director of TAMC, Andrew Kang, has nearly 20 years... of VC investment experience. Before becoming involved as a VC, Mr. Kang was a government official in the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in Taiwan, in charge of the investment policies for Taiwan's economy. While at MOEA, Mr. Kang was among the first Taiwanese officials to tour the U.S. in the early 1980s to learn from first-hand experience how VC business should be conducted. He then became the Directorate of Investment in the Hsin-Chu Science and Industrial Park, Taiwan's Silicon Valley. After Mr. Kang left the government post, he became one of the founding members of H&Q Taiwan, the first VC firm in Taiwan.
