Takan International Development GmbH, is an Austrian-based Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung (the approximate Austrian equivalent of an American 'C' corportation), founded in January 2011. Prior to the founding of Takan-EMEA, Takan had been in operation as Takan Global Development, Inc. The USA corporation was founded in 2001 and was located in... St. Augustine Beach, Florida. The USA corporation was shut down in December 2010. All activities have been assumed by Takan-EMEA. From 2002 to September 2012, Takan represented only one USA firm, Texas Memory Systems, Inc. (TMS), providing agency services to TMS and effectively operating as TMS' sales division throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Direct sales responsibility for the United Kingdom was assumed by TMS in October 2010. As is typical with most new company and product launches, Takan was deeply involved in almost all of the first 200+ system sales within the area, coordinating and facilitating system evaluations, identifying & acquiring channel partners for TMS, training partner sales personnel, accompanying & assisting the partners in product presentations to potential end users, supporting TMS & partner promotional events, and in many cases performing all aspects of the sales process up to the point of passing firm orders from end users to reseller partners. As RamSan system sales in the EMEA area continued to grow, Takan personnel remained heavily involved in the RamSan SSD sales process. Building upon the established client reference base, Takan personnel became more focused upon the development of RamSan SSD product sales to end users within target industry verticals & target countries and with the training of reseller/distributor sales personnel. With the acquisiton of TMS by IBM, Takan begins its second decade as a provider of consulting services and manufacturer representation in EMEA.
