Born and raised in the Okanagan, Nikolas Dos Santos and Emily Patrocinio purchased Tacos Del Norte in January 2019. Being raised in a tightly knit Mexican family, weekly gatherings were a common occurrence and no gathering was complete without authentic Mexican food. Till this day we still reminisce about how incredible our Grandmothers recipes wer... e and are truly blessed to have those recipes passed on to the next generation. Our familys roots originate from the state of Jalisco, Mexico in a small village nestled in the Sierra Madre mountain range. Famous Jalisco state known for its tequila, mariachi and unique cuisine. Jalisco es México and it truly is Mexico as so much of what is identifying to Mexican cultured originates in this state. Now, we bring those flavours from our table to yours. Its time we brought amazing authentic Mexican cuisine to the Okanagan. As a Grant McEwan alumni Nikolas Dos Santos has always shown an interest in building and creating. Since a young age Nik has shown an amazing ability to manifest his ideas and make them a reality. From building miniature golf courses in the sand box, building tree houses and building a dirt bike track with a skid steer and a couple rakes. Now his love of Mexican cuisine and passion of creating a business has come to life. As our Abuelas only granddaughter Emily Patrocinio was always found peeking up over the stove top as out Abuela prepared her many Mexican dishes. Tacos, enchiladas, tostadas, chilaquiles, pazole, guisados and the list goes on. Emily was further exposed to Mexican food culture when she moved and lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He experienced the culture and tasted the flavours of Mexico for 6 year before moving back to Canada with a new appreciation for Mexican cuisine.
