Why was this... WAPOTEC SYSTEM developed? This WAPOTEC SYSTEM was developed to up-grade existing pool water treatment installations for public and domestic use. It is designed to improve flocculation filtration and enhance oxidation. As a result the WAPOTEC SYSTEM allows to reduce undesirable by-products of chlorination formed by the reaction of organic matter from bathers and/or feed water with the free chlorine residual in the pool water. Note: Usually pools have to be treated with very high free chlorine residuals in order to maintain the pool clear and microbiologically unobjectionable - or additional cost and maintenance intensive processes have to be installed. What does that mean for the bather? Proper flocculation filtration is able to eliminate organic matter from the pool cycle without a chemical reaction (chlorine oxidation) which leads to the formation to combined chlorine. Providing that the filtration plant is fit for the bather-load, the result of the proper applied flocculation filtration process is a sparkling clear water - the sparkling clarity that the swimmer requests. Many pools are situated near a restaurant or lounge area for a relaxing environment next to water. But the aggressive odour of combined chlorine evaporating from the pool may frustrate visitors. The additional oxidation provided reduces TDS and other dissolved substances in the pool water and throughout the flow. This allows to reduce the free chlorine residual which can be aggressive to bathing suits (at high levels).
