Superlative Tutoring

I have tutored students privately and for a major test prep company for more than 2 years. The students I work with vary widely, from special education students to gifted students vying for spots at the most prestigious universities. Each student's situation is unique, and I design and adapt my instruction to help each student achieve his or her sp... ecific goals. I consistently see composite scores raised over 200 points, and I am proud to have helped several students break the 2000 point mark and gain admission to schools like Duke and William and Mary. Unlike other tutors who specialize in only math or only verbal, I have mastered and enjoy teaching all the skills and concepts tested by the SAT: from algebra and geometry to persuasive writing and critical reading. It seems unfair that a single test can determine the trajectory of a student's academic career, so anything I can do to relieve students' stress and improve their performance is gratifying. Plus, seeing students get into their dream schools is an amazing reward for a job well done. But more importantly, the SAT tests skills that, if mastered now, will continue to be useful.
