After the regimen of education and then financial planning, it was a relief to have a little more freedom. I have always been interested in Art but havent been able to indulge myself fully until the last couple of years. The added bonus is this keeps me off the streets and out of my wifes hair. Painting is a continual learning process; the more you paint, the more you learn. I have had fantastic guidance in this from two generous mentors in John Canning and Glenda Cornell. A workshop and subsequent overseas tour with Craig Penny was also invaluable. I am now opening the Sunstruck Gallery at 135 High St., COBRAM. The gallery is open by appointment,. ph. 0438 811 801. I guess that the paintings represented here lean firmly toward the impressionist school given that I am continually trying to capture the light and colour changes in my subject. I have tried to portray the colour and appeal of places that are part of me. Places like the Murray Valleys and Bellarine Peninsula. Also included are paintings inspired by travels, although I didnt go to Afghanistan: that was my son.
