The firm was founded in 1997 by Michael Sullivan, CA and operated as a proprietorship until becoming a professional corporation in 2004. Michael Sullivan is the principal of the company. Additional professional staff include: Irene Locke (BAccS, CGA), staff accountant, Darlene Sullivan (BA), who is also the office manager, and Hilke Harper, staff a... ccountant. Sullivan & Co. provides accounting, assurance, tax and related services to owner-managed businesses including corporations, proprietorships and partnerships, and not-for-profit organizations. Michael Sullivan received his B.A. in Management from the University of Toronto in 1993, then articled with Arthur Andersen & Co./Deloitte & Touche and received his CA designation in 1996. Michael is also a C.F.P. (Certified Financial Planner) (2000). Prior to attending university, Michael owned and operated a successful fast food franchise in Toronto for four years. Michael has also served as a director on numerous Boards of not-for-profit organizations as well as volunteering in local organizations. Irene Locke received her Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of Calgary in 2004, and received her Certified General Accounting CGA designation in 2006. Irene has over 20 years of accounting experience, principally within industry. Darlene Sullivan received her B.A. in History from the University of Toronto in 1993, and has worked in the accounting field since 1998. Darlene has completed numerous accounting and taxation courses at the College and University level. Darlene also holds a Diploma in Fashion Merchandising from Seneca and has worked principally in the retail and hospitality industries. Hilke Harper received her diploma in Business Administration in accounting/programming analyst from Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology in 1987.
