Sugar River Rapids Swim

Welcome to the Sugar River Rapids Swim Team website. The mission of the SRR swim team is to provide a place for kids to have fun, swim and train in a competitive environment. It is our hope that each child realizes that success and improvement is based on individual effort and progress. Team progress is based on all individuals improving and workin... g as a team. We will strive to have team members compete at a level equal to his/her ability. Sugar River Rapids (SRR) swim team is a great summer activity for swimmers of all ages and skills. Swimming teaches lifetime athletic and fitness skills as well as builds self-confidence and self-motivation. SRR is a recreational summer league where swimmers learn and practice all competitive strokes and are eligible to participate in home and away swim meets. Children advance at their own speed and compete against swimmers of comparable ages and skill levels. Eligible participants must be able to swim a minimum of one pool length freestyle without stopping, multiple lengths during a 45 minute-1 hour practice and have passed the deep-water test. No previous swim team experience required. Thank you for your patience as we attempt to schedule our swim season for the summer of 2021. As you all know, the pandemic is not over yet, so we are doing our best to make plans with safety at the forefront. At this time, we do not feel that we can fully return back to the old 'normal', but we would still like to offer a fun and rewarding swim experience for your children. As a result, we will not be hosting our traditional large Heidi Meet this summer, nor will we be attending many larger meets. Instead, we have decided to plan for some smaller dual meets in July at our pool. IF the COVID situation is looking alright in our area, we will attempt to have these meets. Since we are having a more laid-back/abbreviated season, we do not feel it is absolutely necessary to order matching team suits this summer.
