Student Action Volunteer Effort

We are a group of individuals who want to do our part to help those in need. Dr. Marna Geisler first went to Myanmar on a family vacation in 2005 and fell in love with the country and its people. She also saw people who could use her help as a medical professional. Having experience on medical mission trips in the past to Nicaragua and Sierra Leone... , Dr. Geisler knew she could do something to make a difference. She teemed up with Myanmar Compassion Project (MCP) and went on her first medical mission trip to Myanmar in 2006. Over the years her love for and dedication to the country grew. She began forming her own teams until, in 2012 her own organization, Student Action Volunteer Effort (SAVE), obtained non-profit status. Since then, SAVE has gone on a trip to Myanmar every year, bringing students and adult volunteers from the US, still working closely with MCP and local medical professionals to provide medical care to people who might otherwise never get a chance to be seen.
