Strings Attached aims to promote, develop and help publicise high quality chamber music in the Brighton & Hove area, and we encourage and support both professional and amateur chamber music making. We are a voluntary group, working in co-operation with a range of organisations including the Brighton Dome & Festival and the Brighton Early Music Fest... ival . The initial impetus for Strings Attached came in 2010 from the possible collapse of the much-loved Sunday morning 'Coffee Concerts' at The Old Market in Hove. These happily survived for a further year at St Nicholas Church on Sunday afternoons into 2011. Since then, and in conjunction with Brighton Dome and Festival , we have arranged an annual series of Coffee Concerts on Sunday mornings at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange and are delighted that a further series is now in place for 2016/17. The Sunday morning Coffee Concert format includes an opportunity to meet fellow members of the audience in the interval with complimentary sherry or fruit juice provided exclusively to Friends of Strings Attached by Brighton Dome and Festival. There is often the opportunity to meet the performers over a drink in the Foyer Bar at the end of the concerts. Coffee, cakes and other light refreshments are available before the concerts and during the interval in the foyer bar. Strings Attached is a new society aiming to bring quality chamber music to Brighton and Hove, and it certainly fulfilled this in its inaugural concert by the Chilingirian Quartet at the Corn Exchange.Read More
