80% of the global workforce doesn't sit at a desk all day, and yet 99% of technology is built for deskworkers. We set out to build for the "deskless" workforce. Our story starts a few years back when we provided English training in kitchens. Back then we were called "ESL Works". Many years and many kitchens later, we expanded our vision dramaticall... y. Opus is a mobile-first learning platform that delivers chat-based microtraining. Employers create. Managers connect. Employees engage, learn and grow. We work with hundreds of companies, from restaurant groups to facilities companies and manufacturing plants. When Coronavirus hit, we built StopCOVID.co to provide free, text message-based COVID-19 training to tens of thousands of essential workers. We are a tech company, but we take a human-first approach to everything we build. We aim to create space for everyone in the new era of work. Rachael led operations and people for over a decade in the hospitality industry, most recently for Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group. She comes from a family of restaurant veterans, including her grandfather who owned Don's World of Beef, a multi-unit restaurant based in Kansas City in the 1960's. Rachael is also a certified in second language acquisition and teaching English as a Second Language. Jeff has spent his entire career working in technology. Prior to Opus, Jeff was an Engineering Manager at Managed by Q. Before that, he co-founded Into. Jeff studied cognitive science and cloud computing at the University of Pennsylvania. He spent his early working days teaching sailing at summer camp. Vince is a distinguished product designer and design leader. Prior to Opus, he was Director of Design at Managed by Q and Senior Product Designer at Moat. Vince also ran his own Design Studio in Amsterdam.
