Although he always dreamed of being an Artist, the reality of life led him into the Retail profession where he remained until 2016. After moving to Irvine in 1992 he met "the love of his life" Caroline. They still reside here, happy to be close to their 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Steven began painting with gusto for the first time since his sc... hool days after suffering from two heart attacks and consequent depression, encouraged as therapy by his supportive family. He experimented with colour, materials and technique, eagerly growing into the abstract artist we know and love today, all from the dining room in his Irvine family home. Steven's confidence and unique trademark style became clearly apparent in 2016 when he produced his first McCoo, "Harris". Auld Tam was his next McCoo, he was auctioned at Cash for Kids and the rest, as they say is History. More McCoo's joined the family, all with their own unique tale. The beginning of the McZoo family came along shortly afterwards, growing from Steven's love for Elephants. The Tree of Aura, a very personal piece reflecting growth and hope followed in the vibrant footsteps of the animals and it became evident it was time to move out of the family home and to the beloved premises in Ayr that is Steven Brown Art. Steven paints as avidly as he did 5 years ago, constantly producing Portraits, Landscapes McCoo's and McZoo's in Artwork and Lifestyle products which sell all over the World.
