Step 13 is a nationally-recognized men's residential recovery program in downtown Denver that offers its residents the opportunity to recover from the disease of addiction and become productive, contributing members of their communities through a program that focuses on sobriety, work, and personal accountability. The Step 13 recovery program is ba... sed on the Recovery Oriented Systems of Care model and the Peer Recovery Support process along with recovery education groups and 12 Step meetings. Each resident works with a Recovery Support Manager to set and acheive goals in all facets of their lives. In partnership with Goodwill Industries, we offer employment counseling, continuing career education and job placement services. Our program also offers, recreational, physical fitness and spiritual components to help our residents maintain a healthy lif balance. Step 13 serves men 21 and older who are ready to rebuild their lives after losing jobs, family relationships, and community connections to their addiction. The average age is 41. We do not set a time frame for people in our residential program to obtain the necessary skills to be self-sufficient -- the average length of stay is 9 months. Since our founding in 1983, more than 2,500 men have taken part in our program. We recognize that a person cannot be helped to overcome their addiction until they are ready to take personal responsibility for their past, present, and future.
