About Steel Rule

Tru-Fit Steel Rule Dies of WI, Inc. has been owned and operated by Michael Piefer since 1985. It currently employees 20 people in an 11,500 sq. ft. building. Tru-Fit was founded by Peter & Laura Piefer in 1960 as a home based business. Peter's early years of working in a carton company gave him his experience as a die maker and die press operator to branch out to start a business of his own. During that time, Tru-Fit manufactured cutting dies for displays, folding cartons, corrugated containers, vacuum formed plastic, gaskets, decals and related items for skin packaging and blister packaging. After 25 years of ownership and 3 different locations, Peter sold the business to his son, Mike. In 1988 the operation was moved to the present facility in Germantown.
