At Star Day Nursery we pride ourselves on providing quality care and education. In order to deliver a high level of early years childcare and education, our planning is centered on the individual child. We create a nursery environment that focuses on encouraging children to explore and we support their learning by planning fun and creative activiti... es that stimulates and enhances them. Our Nursery environment encourages investigation, exploration and fun through child-centered activities, freedom of choice, adult support and interaction. We continually 'track' our children's learning and progress to ensure that they are achieving the Six Early Learning Goals in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our Nursery uses a Long Term plan all year round, which provides 'themes' as guidance for the children's learning. However, planning for our children's education and development begins with the child. Our teachers plan for each child based on their needs and individual learning goals. We believe that every child is unique and every child matters therefore, each child has their own individual plan, which caters to their needs. We observe the child, making notes which aid our planning such as noting 'Snap shots' and paying close attention to their choices, language and general well being. We use this information to plan how we can further extend and support each child's learning and development in specific areas. Each child's work is recognized through displays, discussions and rewards.
