Father David Michaud has been Rector of St. Peters, Salisbury Parish since May of 2013. He graduated from the General Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree with Honors i... n May 2007, was ordained to the Diaconate on June 2, 2007 and ordained to the priesthood on December 21, 2007. During his tenure at St. Peter's the parish has seen growth and has made improvements to its buildings and grounds thanks to a successful capital campaign. Father David has instituted daily prayer in the church and enjoys teaching and leading Bible Studies throughout the year. In 2018 our Rector was involved in many efforts to celebrate the parish's 250th Anniversary, including a pilgrimage trip to England. During the pandemic he led efforts to establish permanent livestreaming of worship services. Father David is likely the only Rector of St. Peters to have grown up in Salisbury, attending St. Francis School and Wicomico High. He received his Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley. Father David is also the Chair of the Diocese of Eastons Green Hill Church Committee, a member of the Diocesan Grants Committee, and Diocesan Council. He also consults for the national churchs General Convention Office has been the Assistant Secretary for Digital Systems for the past five General Convention. Father David is married to Kelli Michaud, who is a community health nurse. They have two grown daughters, Erin and Maggie, who live in the Richmond area. A native North Carolinian, Daniel Cherrix, has roots that run deep here on the Eastern Shore. Daniels father grew up in Snow Hill, and he has cousins still in the area. Daniel received his undergraduate degree in Church Music from Erskine College in South Carolina, and his Masters of Sacred Music from Emory University in Atlanta.
