SPES is once again looking forward to contributing to the Emergency Shelter Partnership this season which began November 1. Some of you will remember St. Patricks hosted some of our homeless neighbors for a week in February with your full support and help. This year our routine needs to be adjusted to the health crisis caused by THE COVID crisis an... d all the safety precautions and extra expenses that requires. There are four congregations within walking distance in Mt. Kisco housing our guests for four weeks each thereby eliminating the need for busing and exposure to the virus. This eases the set up and moving of partitions, cleaning equipment, etc., each week to a new location. Congregations are providing individual boxed meals and bagged lunches prepared off location and delivered to host facility. Unfortunately, this does not allow any direct contact with our guests, however, this does not diminish our mission to safely and warmly house our neighbors in need while keeping us all safe as well. St. Patricks will be feeding our guests the week of February 15th at St Francis Church. We can only fulfill this need with your full support and willingness as volunteers to organize, cook, supply needed items, deliver, etc. We also need a volunteer to manage web communication. AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2020: 198,000 LBS OF FOOD WAS GIVEN TO NEIGHBORS-IN-NEED. It is estimated that the CCNW will distribute 225,000 lbs. of food to neighbors-in-need by Dec. 31, 2020.
