It has a decile rating of 5. It was established to serve the Roman Catholic Parish of St Brigids. Many residents of Feilding commute to the city of Palmerston North for employment. Parent support the school through fundraising, providing transport for class trips and helping within classes. There are enthusiastic groups active with the Board of Trustees, P.T.F.A. and whanau ensuring that the school is well supplied with equipment and resources. There is a strong desire on behalf of the ex parents of the school to maintain contact with the school through donating to fundraising ventures and attending school functions. The important aspects of school life at St Joseph's centre on the celebration of important feast days within the year of the Church.
