St John Bosco School

St. John Bosco School has been serving the Westside community since 1940. Led by the Salesian Sisters, St. John Bosco School offers families an education based on the teachings of St. John Bosco. He believed that Christ's love and our faith in that love should pervade everything we do-work, study, and play. For John Bosco being a Salesian was a ful... l time, life-long effort, not a once a week, Mass on Sunday experience. St. John Bosco taught children to search for and find God in everything they did, letting His love lead them. At St. John Bosco School children are offered an education that integrates religious truth and values with life. St. John Bosco School is accredited through the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department and maintains membership in the National Catholic Educational Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Teaching staff are dedicated, qualified religious and lay men and women. Overall curriculum and programs include early childhood for 3-5 year olds, elementary for children grades 1-4, and middle school/junior high for 5-8 grade students. Not only are students prepared to enter a college preparatory high school curriculum, they are also offered a wide variety of extra-curricular activities such as band, spirituality clubs, student council, National Honors Society, sports programs, cheerleading, dance team, drama, newspaper, arts and crafts, summer school, summer day camp, and summer enrichment. As part of the San Antonio community the Salesian Sisters saw a need to expand their mission to include even younger children. On July 5, 2005 St. John Bosco School opened the doors of its new Child Development Center serving children from 6 weeks to 3 years of age.
