Springwell is a private, non-profit organization that has been creating, managing, and coordinating a wide range of services for more than 35 years. Originally founded in 1977 as West Suburban Elder Services, the company updated the company's name to Springwell in 2002 in order to reflect the company's commitment to serving the broader needs of the... company's communities' seniors, people with disabilities, and caregivers. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs appointed Springwell as the Aging Services Access Point, Area Agency on Aging, and Protective Services Agency for the residents of Waltham, Newton, Brookline, Watertown, Belmont, Needham, Wellesley and Weston, as well as the Protective Services Agency for an additional nine MetroWest communities: Ashland, Dover, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Natick Sherborn, Sudbury, and Wayland. In addition, Springwell partners with Accountable Care Organizations, physician's groups, housing entities, and other community based organizations to offer services focused on the intersection of a person's health and social service needs.
