About Specifiq

SPECIFIQ was founded in November 2011 to create site-specific and immersive theatre based principally on true stories in the places where those stories originally happened. We believe that site-specific theatre is at its most effective when it is just that - specific to its site. Our first production was The Black Staircase, a commission from the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Durham, which told three interweaving stories from different periods in Durham Castle's diverse history. Whisky Dusk was performed at Micklefield Hall in Hertfordshire, a sell-out production and pre-cursor to our forthcoming production Violet Heart, which is currently in development. In June 2014, SPECIFIQ produced Giants of Old, a commission from Harrow School to create a multi-stranded immerRead more

Whisky Dusk was performed at Micklefield Hall in Hertfordshire, a sell-out production and pre-cursor to our forthcoming production Violet Heart, which is currently in development. In June 2014, SPECIFIQ produced Giants of Old, a commission from Harrow School to create a multi-stranded immersive piece celebrating some of the school's most notable alumni. O Little Town told a post-war love story in the wintry grounds of the Actors' Church, Covent Garden. In early 2016, SPECIFIQ created Hearing Things, a digitial audio experience, for the Waterloo-based VAULT Festival. Other productions have included The Gypsy Princess, a story-telling children's show, The Lost Elixir, a story told through a bespoke app, and Headshot, set in a photographer's studio in North London. In 2016, SPECIFIQ created Hearing Things for VAULT Festival, a pop-up arts festival based in the tunnels under Waterloo Station. Designed to entertain festival goers as they queued at the box office or waited in the bar, Hearing Things was a digital audio experience inspired by the sights and sounds of Waterloo's diverse urban landscape. Over the past few years, SPECIFIQ has developed a number of bespoke treasure hunts and gaming adventures including one-to-one experiences involving custom-made digital and physical clues as well as escape room style ...Read More
