WHAT DOES SPAY & SAVE DO? Issues discount spaying and neutering certificates provided by participating veterinarians. Provides a telephone "matchmaker" referral services for persons who must give up their pets or foster animals for adoption, and for those who wish to adopt a pet. Provides an information service for current or prospective pet owners... who have questions about pet behavior or pet care. Provides a foster program for individual rescuers on a limited basis. Sponsors "Adoption Days' at participating PETCO, PET VALU, PERK VALLEY PET EATERY, AND PET SUPPLIES PLUS stores and during community events. Provides a barn and garden cat placement program for outdoor cats. Subsidizes on a limited basis, veterinary care for many ill and injured animals. Helps elderly and needy owners to maintain, feed, and care for their companion animals. WHO ARE THE MEMBERS OF SPAY & SAVE? Spay & Save is a small organization consisting of only a handful of people; however, because Spay & Save helps people who help animals, there are many individuals in the five-county region who are involved in our cause. These are people who independently care for many stray, abandoned and helpless animals. These are the people who, like Spay & Save, would never think of euthanizing a healthy animal. Instead - often at great personal sacrifice - they jointly make it possible for thousands of dogs and cats to live long, healthy and happy lives. Spay & Save is proud to be associated with the animal lovers and rescuers who call us for assistance. Spay & Save gets its funds from private donors, the Petco Foundation, bequests, and fund-raising activities of small organizations - bake sales, flea markets, direct mailings, and mostly importantly from wonderful people like you. HOW ARE THE FUNDS USED? We consist entirely of volunteers. Every cent we collect goes directly to the care of animals, mostly for veterinary care. We have no paid employees.
