A Few Words from Henry Mundy, Founder.... The first edition of the Southside Shopper hit the streets nearly 40 years ago -- on February 10, 1977. My staff of one and I held our breath and waited -- how would it be received? The answer is, Very Well! It turned out that we filled a real need in our community. And we've continued to improve on filling... that need ever since. The first edition was about 4 pages long, and we circulated 10,000 copies. We've certainly come a long way! Currently, we print nearly 30,000 copies of our 36+ page paper every week -- and thanks to all our loyal customers, Friends and Family. We're very proud of our paper and really enjoy publishing it for you! With 80 years of experience in the newspaper business, I guess I can take some of the credit for the Southside Shopper's success. But to tell you the truth, the lion's share of credit goes to my immediate family (wife, son, 3 daughters,1 daughter-in-law and 1 son-in-law) and to our other dedicated employees.
