From 1972-1981: Manufacturing only Thinners and Picture coating varnishes 2. Started Paint manufacturing in 1982 in a new factory set up on a green field site admeasuring more than a lakh sq. ft. area allotted by KIADB in a prestigious locality of Whitefield Industrial Area. 3. Paints activity started initially with manufacturing and marketing only NC Paints for Auto Refinishing Market and other industrial consumers under brand name of Southlac, which became very popular during 1980's. 4. In 1987, the company moved out from retail market to industrial customers and expanded the product line as well as production capacity to cater to industrial coating segment. 5. In mid-nineties, Southfield group saw an opportunity in powder coatings, which was latest technology in the coatings industry and was rapidly gaining industrial acceptance due to its superior properties and eco-friendly nature of the product. 6.
