South Warren High School

The mission of South Warren High School is to provide students with opportunities that promote vision, leadership, and life-long learning. The school year consists of two semesters, each divided into two 9 week quarters. The day is divided into four 83 minute block classes and a 30 minute enrichment-intervention period. Biology, Calculus, Chemistry... , English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, European History, Human Geography, Music Theory, Psychology, Physics, Statistics and United States History. AP is an open-enrollment program. Enables juniors and seniors to enroll in freshman courses and earn college credits at the local institutions of Western Kentucky University and South Central Kentucky Community & Technical College. GPA is computed using the above quality points. Beginning with grade nine, all subjects, whether passed or failed, are included in the computation. A minimum of 26 credits is required for graduation. AP Courses are weighted by one point. Grades are recorded on the transcript and GPA is computed at the completion of each quarter. Students are ranked on both a weighted and unweighted scale. South Warren High School is located on the south side of Bowling Green in Warren County, Kentucky. Bowling Green is the third largest city in Kentucky. Warren County is a growing community with a mix of professionals, farmers, and blue-collar workers making up the work force. Western Kentucky University is responsible for much of the growth in the community as many graduates make Warren County their permanent home. Warren County has a population of 133,792.
