Sounds on West is the evolution of Six-String Brewing Company , their love of craft beer, smoking meat and BBQ. In the United States, BBQ refers to a technique that involves cooking meat for long periods of time at low temperatures with smoke from a wood fire. This form of cooking adds a distinctive smoky taste to the meat. Often the proprietors of... barbecue establishments originate from the Southern states of the USA such as Texas, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Kentucky and Missouri to name a few. It is here that barbecue is more than just a style of cooking, but a subculture with wide variation between regions, and fierce rivalry for titles at barbecue competitions. We classify ourselves as an American barbecue restaurant providing American Diner cuisine as well as an Australian influence. Our menu is a continuous work in progress. Our meats cook for most of the day and finish cooking just before 6pm. Dinner is where you will enjoy the full on American BBQ experience. Our lunch menu is more casual from our dinner service. Our menu is fairly simple. Just good southern style barbecue serving beef brisket, beef short ribs, sausages, pulled pork, pork spare ribs and anything that fits into the smoker on the day. Complimented with traditional sides, condiments and desserts with a twist. We are passionate on using local artisan producers, suppliers and ingredients and are always on the look out for something new. Retro features have been incorporated into the original raw industrial space. A combination of exposed ceilings, brick and timber panel walls, steel and glass, refurbished bench tops from old doors for a garage meets butchery feel.
