For over 25 years we have sold our plants, both hostas and ferns, on Saturdays during April and May at the Overland Park Farmer's Market in downtown Overland Park, Kansas and during the growing season from the Lenexa Hosta Garden. Hosta are perennial plants that are a favorite choice for gardening in the shade. Hostas are so popular because they ha... ve beautiful foliage yet are easy to grow and maintain. Hosta leaves display a wide range of colors, sizes, shapes, and textures. Depending on the variety, mature hosta plants can be as large as six feet across or as small as a few inches. We grow and sell the highest quality hostas from our home and garden in suburban Kansas City. We've been growing hostas for over 25 years, and we're happy to share what we've learned - both about growing and caring for hostas in general, and also what works and what doesn't for growing hostas in the Kansas City area. Our plants are grown outside, not in protected environments. Growing them in "real-world" conditions produces strong healthy hostas that can be planted any time during the growing season.
