About Soniplastics

Founded in 1970, Soniplastics specialized mainly in the process of plastic injection as a major supplier to the vertical-blind industry. In 1980, the owner of Draco vertical-blind manufacturers, John Teasdale, acquired Soniplastics and presided over a period of sustained growth driven mainly by the introduction of extrusion technologies. In the early 1990s, Soniplastics moved to its present facility in Boucherville and re-positioned itself for the future through the acquisition of Profex, a company specializing in extruded plastic mouldings destined for the window and door sector. Several years later, Teasdale ceded his position to his son André, whose arrival marked a major change of course for the company. Beginning in 1995, the Boucherville facility focused its activities strictly on the door and window markets. During this time, André was directly involved in the design and selling of Soniplastic products, working closely with clients to identify any improvements that might better serve their needs. Accessibility and quick turnaround became the heart of a unique and very successful business model for the company. Over time, the entire line of Soniplastics products has been completely re-worked, and a number of innovations deployed, most notably the combining of aluminium/PVC and the development of colour-embedded PVC. And it didn't take long for those innovations to obtain results. During the following two decades, Soniplastics quadrupled in size and solidified its position as one of the top manufacturers of moulded plastics destined for the door and window markets in all of Canada.Read More
