My name is Rae Somers and I am the owner and founder of Somers Signs LLC! A graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, I have a Masters degree i... n Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. After earning my degree, I have worked with students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing including students of different modalities such as Auditory- Oral, Cued Speech, and students who use American Sign Language. Additionally I have experience working with clients that are multiply disabled and Deaf-Blind. After many years in the classroom, I decided to expand my horizons and took coursework to pursue an education in interpreting. Currently I have a Virginia Quality Assurance Screening level of II. I am also EIPA rated and am working towards my National Certification. Somers Signs LLC currently offers private sign language tutoring, baby and youth signing classes, and American Sign Language Interpreting services to meet your needs! We currently offer interpreting services both privately and for the State of Virginia.
