Solid State Radio first took to the airwaves on September 11, 2017 with the belief that there was an audience for great alternative music that wasnt getting played on local radio, played by local DJs who are actually fun to listen to. Think of us as your favorite dive bar on the radio, but with way better taste in music. Where other stations give l... ip service to local, we live it. We are 100% locally and independently owned and operated; everything we play is programmed right here in downtown Lapeer by people who care about the music as much as you do. Were the only radio station in mid-Michigan that not only spotlights local music as part of our regular playlist, but takes an entire hour every weekday afternoon to spotlight talent from around our great state. But we dont stop there. We put on regular low-to-no-cost concerts across mid-Michigan, because we believe live music should be accessible to everyone. We sponsor, promote, and broadcast from community events, and we spotlight local businesses and non-profits on several shows across our schedule, because we believe this truly is a cool and vibrant community, and we want everyone else to know it, too. We also play host each week to the Lapeer Main Street Hour, which is exclusively devoted to the fun and exciting events going on around the city we call home, because we have firm roots in Lapeer, and Lapeer is an inseparable part of us.
