Smooth Stone Guitars

The story of Smooth Stone: Dale Humphries began playing guitar in 1963 after seeing Elvis Presley on the Ed Sullivan Show. While attending college, he worked at a local music store and began making guitar repairs. After a couple of years, he formed the band Dallas McGee and began his professional music career. Dallas McGee toured Western US, Canada... , Hawaii and several Asian countries, during which Dale maintained and repaired the bands equipment. Several years passed before Dale became tired of living out of a suitcase, so he returned to college to finish his education in Industrial Technology/Economics and Business Administration. His career path eventually landed him in Idaho where with his background in music, repairs and industrial technology, he found it a natural move into building custom guitars. His 40+ years of music experience has given him a firm grip on what sound he is looking for in a mid to high-end handmade guitar. People regularly ask about the company name.
