SRSP in its program always tried to support the poor people particularly farmer for their uplift and sustainable development. Keeping in view the fact, SRSP started a capacity building program with the support of different partners/agencies at different times, simultaneously it also contributed in capacity building of the needy people of its operat... ional area as well as other parts of the Sindh at its own. The theme of this activity is to uplift the economical status of people as they can participate in all development activities of their life. At the same time SRSP has supported its staff for getting different trainings from renowned national and international institutions/departments. As a well trained and qualified staff is a bridge between the community member and the agency that can fulfil its need. Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF) which provides farmers, farmer groups, and entrepreneurs with demand-driven technical and managerial services on a matching grant basis to improve their productivity, competitiveness and creditworthiness to access financing for their enterprises. ASF is a "Not for Profit Company" registered under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance. It was established by the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture & Livestock (MINFAL) with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the context of the Agribusiness Development and Diversification Project. The company is governed by a private-sector led, independent Board of Directors and is based in Lahore. SRSP submitted a project proposal to ASF during the month of December, 2007. The main objective of the project is to mobilize, form progress farmer groups and enhance socio-economic empowerment of small farmer groups of Districts Nawabshah and Umerkot, Sindh Pakistan .
