In his role as Director of Small Business Development, Mr. Silvas was the architect of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authoritys award winning inclusionary program that resulted in an increase in small, local business participation and increased diversity. Under Mr. Silvas leadership, the Authority was awarded recognition by the following national organizations: In addition to numerous local awards, Mr. Silvas received the 2013 AMAC Award for Airport Architecture, Construction and Engineering and was named one of 2012s Metro Movers by San Diego Metropolitan Magazine. Mr. Silvas served two separate terms as chair of the ACI-NA Business Diversity Committee, is a past member of the AMAC Board, and was a member of the American Association of Airport Executive (AAAE) Diversity Committee. Currently he serves on the Port of San Diegos Bayfront Cultural and Design Committee. In addition, Mr. Silvas was a certified instructor of Kepner-Tregoes Project Management courses.
