SIERRASOTA is a 501(C)(3) registered non-profit organization in the great State of Minnesota which was established in 1999 by indigenous Sierra Leoneans living in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul to effectively promote the cause of Sierra Leone during the civil war. Also, to introduce our rich cultural heritage and spread social awarenes... s about Sierra Leone in communities across Minnesota and the upper mid-west of the United States of America. Descendants of Sierra Leoneans residing in Minnesota desired to strengthen unity amongst us and are determined to work cooperatively with other organizations to exploit our common interests and improve our social welfare, as well as our educational and community needs. The organization would encourage all fellow countrymen and women in Minnesota and other parts of the United States of America to participate actively or passively in the organization to help promote cultural awareness of our homeland through social activities. The union within its capability would render utmost assistance to any member in the event of death, illness, accident or other unforeseen problems encountered.
