Hal has been in the custom home industry for well over 30 years. He first started in the business when he worked as a Project Forman for a high-end concrete company in Phoenix, A... rizona while he attended college and studied in both Construction Management & Drafting. Hal moved to Austin, Texas where he has called home for the past 25 years. Having worked for some of Austins top builders including Scott Felder Homes, Regent Homes, and Randy Rollo Custom Homes, Hal perfected his skills in managing all aspects of the construction process. For the last 18 years, Hal has been the owner/operator of Shumate Homes inc. and prides himself with being very hands on with every project from the client contracts, selection of materials & interior features, placement of home on lot, managing the overall cost of construction, daily construction schedules, securing funding, securing all necessary permitting, and just listening to the clients needs. Hal retains the services of Several Engineering Firms to ensure the quality of construction is guaranteed.
